BIO Dwayne Newby, better known by his stage name Rollie Fresh is a multi-talented Jamaican reggae/dancehall artiste, who not only seeks to entertain but also educate with his music. since Febuary of 2014 he has released his new mixtape "A Dis Dem A Fight Fah volume 1.5" which has attract a lot more listeners to his music. in july(2013) he released a single from his upcoming mixtape "A Dis Dem A Fight Fah volume 1.5" titled “Anuh Every Gal" which has gotten him a lot of recognition thus far. the video for the single was also released, this music video (Anuh Every Gal), was directed by Cornelius Grant of Good Vybes Entertainment. in march(2012)”A Dis Dem a Fight Fah volume 1” was released which feature big ups from reggae/dancehall artiste such as Chronixx,Bounty Killer,Lutan Fyah,Bryan Heart,G Whizz,Pattexx,Iyara,Nefatari and Aisha Davis.This mixtape gained Rollie Fresh a lot of fans. in september(2012) he went to America where he did a few performance in New Jersey,Pennsylvania and Florida. The reception was good and the experience made him even more relentless in his pursuit to accomplish his dreams. after arriving back in Jamaica he made himself even more resilient: heading full speed ahead.
Rollie Fresh has been on the music scene since 2003. He has released a number of music videos for singles produced by his very own “Above The Average Records” such as; Wealthy,Leaders Nah Nuh Love(How To Love-remix) and Neva Know/Good Life feat. Chronixx. Rollie Fresh has worked with producers such as Brukk Out production,PayDay Music, Gragunzden production,XXX5000 production,Heart Of Love production and Kemistry Records. He is consistently evolving in the entertainment and musical world(he is a perfectionist). Rollie Fresh’s talent is undeniable, his songs speaks of every day life. This makes it easy for individuals to relate to his music.
BIO Bad Ras is a reggae artist born and grow with his five brothers and two sisters in Kingston Jamaica to Christian parents. He went to Norman Manley High school and his love of music was getting stronger the older he got with influences such as Capleton and Admiral Tibet. After leaving school he learned a trade as a jeweler, but music was his first love.
Before moving to the UK in 1999, he performed at local fetes and stage shows. Hs original stage name was ‘Bucka’ until his uncle called him Bad Ras due to his teenage rebellious behavior, a name which he adopted as his stage and street name.
While living in the UK Bad Ras lives in Moss Side Manchester, which has a very strong Jamaican community. This allows him to keep his Jamaican identity of which he is extremely proud, alive and gives him the chance to continue to express himself in a way that he was used to. He has done performances in Manchester, Leeds, Bradford, London, Birmingham and Bristol. With artists such as I Octane, Movado, Gyption, Beanie Man and Richie Spice.
Throughout his life Bad Ras felt forced to express himself and realized that the most positive and fulfilling way of doing this was through his music. He says ‘I get my creativity from the vibes at the time, outer and in music, and it is a greater force within me that delivers the music and you can get good from bad and bad from good’. Bad Ras’s roots and culture are Rastafari and he says this helps to keep him focused and righteous, in his life and music.
He is currently working on an album to be launched in early 2012. He will be performing some of the tracks from the album during a European tour in the same year. He is also looking forward to doing more shows in the UK over the coming months and next year.
Bad Ras has expressed his extreme gratitude to his supporters in his local community and throughout the UK. He looks forward to continuing with what he is doing, as his motivation in life is surrounding himself in music, love, family and new experiences.
