ABOUT WYRE
Wyre has done music professionally for over 16 years. He has released 2 solo albums to date namely Definition of a Lovechild and 10 Years Wiser. He has also released 2 albums as part of the group Necessary Noize. The East African Bashment Crew was a collaborative effort between Wyre and several other regional artistes in which one album was released. Wyre, known as “Da Lovechild” has been nominated in the Annual Channel O Africa Music Awards in South Africa several times; in 2011 his singles "Uprising" as well as the highly rotated "She Say Dat" which featured Jamaican Dancehall star Cecile, were both nominated while the hit single "Dancehall Party" was nominated In 2012.
Wyre has been quite busy in the past couple of years; he has been releasing winning singles on a consistent basis. The massively succesful single "Nakupenda Pia" which featured Jamaican songbird Alaine, was released in June of 2013. The single has become an anthem of sorts since then. The corresponding video has gathered over 700,000 views on Youtube in the six months since its release. 2013 also saw Wyre win the highly coveted "Best New Artist" Award at the International Reggae and World Music Awards (IRAWMA) held in Florida, USA. Wyre had several running corporate endorsements one of which was with Kenya's leading communications provider Safaricom Limited. Wyre has been the Brand Ambassador for Samsung Electronics in Kenya for an extended period. This has clearly made Wyre a household name across Africa. Wyre is set to release his highly anticipated third album in early 2013 on his own label, Lovechild Records.

BIOGRAPHY
Wyre “Da Lovechild” is no stranger to the entertainment industry. With a musical career spanning more than sixteen years, Wyre says he has no intentions of slowing down any time soon. An accomplished singer, songwriter and producer, Wyre has been nominated and won numerous awards both at home in Kenya and within the African continent. Wyre is slowly marking his spot in the global scene by blending different genres of music and singing in various languages, thus slowly crossing over to the international stages. His collaborations with several local and international artists, release of quality videos and constantly writing conscious and relatable lyrics, has gained him a fan base in the thousands the world over.
As a member of the group Necessary Noise, Wyre and his group released two very successful albums that forever raised the bar for other musical groups in Kenya. Necessary Noise was formed in the latter part of 2000 and went on to release several hits such as “Kenyan girl Kenyan Boy” and “Bless My Room” that dominated the Kenyan musical scene for several years and for which they also garnered several awards. Necessary Noise later joined with other East African artists to form the group “East African Bashment Crew” (EABC). EABC released one album together which had several hits such as “Fire” and “Combination”. The group also won several awards for their work.
As a solo artist, Wyre released his first solo album “Definition of a Lovechild” in 2006. The album was a sensational fusion of R&B and dancehall rhythms that relayed the musical message of Wyre’s soul. Wyre managed to compose and write all sixteen tracks on the album. He released videos for several of the singles on the album and this paid off handsomely as he received numerous support, requests and accolades not only on local radio and television stations but also on global charts such as MTV Base and Channel O Africa. He sings in both English and Swahili and infused by passion his music both shrinks and phenomenalizes the different phases of love in the way we all feel it. Wyre has been and continues to be inspired as a musician by many great musicians who have fundamentally influenced who he is as an artist.
Wyre released his most recent album fittingly titled “10 Years Wiser” in 2010. The album managed to expose his diversified musical styles and influences. Wyre says he is greatly inspired by the musical work of Michael Jackson, Damian Marley, Genuwine and Akon to mention but a few. His collaboration with several artists on the album’s original and remixed versions has catapulted Wyre to levels he only dreamt of just a few years before the release. He has collaborated with such artists as JB Maina of Kenya, P Square of Nigeria, Cecile from Jamaica and Gramps & Peetah Morgan from the world renowned Reggae group Morgan Heritage , to mention but a few. Singles such as “Uprising”, “She Say Dat” (featuring Cecile), “Sina Makosa” and “Mwanake” (featuring JB Maina) are just a few of the hits from the album 10 Years Wiser. Wyre has also done production work for such artists as Redsan, Achieng Abura and Gidi Gidi Maji Maji amongst many others.
2013 saw Wyre visit Jamaica for the very first time where he collaborated with several artistes and producers on various projects, many to be released in 2014. The video for the hit single "Nakupenda Pia" which featured multi-talented Jamaican songbird Alaine Laughton was shot at various locations in Jamaica and released in mid 2013.Wyre released several singles and videos including "Khadija Remix" featuring Kenyan artist JuaCali and "Kamua Leo Remix" that he featured with several artistes. Wyre also performed at the International Reggae and Music Awards held in the USA where he also won the award for "Best New Artiste".
Wyre continues with his quest to penetrate the international market while increasing and maintaining his local fan base. He has performed for thousands of fans the world over and continues to be well known for his highly energetic stage performance.
